2026 marks 10 years into my crafting journey.  In 2016, I retired from a prestigious administrative teaching position in a university. During my tenure, I enjoyed creating scientific simulations and hands-on medical laboratory experiments. 

 Now I’m on the lookout for purposeful handcrafted projects that convey a learning experience. In addition to my knit/crochet gift items, I have branched into sewing and embroidery while on my mission to educate the public about  landfill waste.The textile industry is one of the largest contributors to landfill waste. If we can all repurpose textiles, our world will be cleaner. I have found the world of repurposing denim challenging but so fulfilling!  I avoid remaking denim into clothing items since sizing and personal preferences are difficult to achieve. However,creating small gift items such as toys, decor, journal books, and denim purses fits perfectly into my goal of offering unique products with a teachable moment.
